INFORMATICA Product Information Management (PIM) Basic Product Training courses present the fundamentals of the INFORMATICA PIM product functionality to anyone interested in acquiring basic knowledge of the software. This extended version of the PIM: New User courses includes the content of the PIM: New User courses, and in addition takes the user into the underlying PIM data model, through various aspects of administration tasks, and covers the basics of PIM import and export functionality.
PIM: Overview & Basic Usage
Designed as an introduction to the INFORMATICA Product Information Management (PIM) applications, this course requires no prior knowledge. Starting with an overview of the solution and an introduction to the application user interfaces, the course then covers the basic usage of the main clients.
PIM: Data Life Cycle Processes
Covering all major data maintenance processes in the PIM applications, from data onboarding, data enrichment, asset management, data quality, to classification strategies and other aspects.
PIM: Data Model Basics
An introduction to the PIM data model underlying the whole system, which shows users the most important aspects of the repository and the structure systems.
PIM: Admin Basics
Covering all of the major aspects of system configuration, including the Audit Trail and Enterprise Search.
PIM: Import Basics
An introduction to the import functionality in PIM, showing how to create mappings, and handle hotfolder configuration.
PIM: Export Basics
Introducing the user to the export functionality in PIM, and showing how to create export templates and schedule exports.
After successfully completing this course, students should have a good understanding of:
