VNX File Storage Management (MR-1CP-VNXFSM)
This Specialist-level course is targeted for storage/cloud infrastructure administrators requiring in-depth knowledge and practical lab work with EMC
VNX File-only storage systems. It provides participants with detailed discussions on configuring VNX file-level access for Microsoft Windows and
Linux user/application environments via NFS and CIFS. Initial storage system configuration, security and availability using Unisphere are also covered. NAS configurations, including networking, file system creation and export in Microsoft Windows, Unix, and VMware ESXi environments are explored. Lastly, the course will cover configuration and management of file-based local replications solution.
The course covers a wide range of topics in detail, and includes hands-on lab exercises that reinforce the concepts covered in lectures. It is strongly recommended that only participants with the necessary prerequisite skill set attend this course.
This course is intended for information technology professionals responsible for the configuration, deployment and management of file-based VNX storage systems in heterogeneous host environments.
To understand the content and successfully complete this course, a student should have knowledge and skills associated with the following:
VNX system architecture
Ethernet switch configuration, including management of switch features like VLANs, Ethernet settings, including duplex, throughput, and port channeling.
Basic Microsoft Windows and UNIX administration skills (Managing users/groups, files and directories)
Basic VMware ESX/ESXi operations and management
A list of specific prerequisite courses can be found in EMC Education Services Learning Management System.
Upon successful completion of this course, participants should be able to:
Implement Unisphere security
